J.A. Ibarra

I'm a Costa Rican engineer and writer living somewhere between thinking and making. Between data and intuition, systems and stories. Between Costa Rica 🇨🇷 and the rest of the world 🌎.

I believe the most interesting things happen in the spaces between disciplines. A coffee shop and an algorithm. A horror film and a user interface. A tiny design detail and an entire philosophy about how people behave.

This blog is where I think out loud: about the hidden patterns behind everyday things, the people and decisions we overlook, and the observations that don't fit neatly anywhere else.

No niche. No posting schedule. Just honest words and a wide lens.

Welcome to the Cam 📸.

What I write about

Hidden Patterns

The systems, algorithms, and design choices quietly shaping how we live — without us noticing.

Culture & Stories

Movies, music, pop culture, and why the stories we consume shape the way we see everything else.

Crossovers

The ideas that don't fit neatly anywhere: tech meets art, data meets intuition, and unrelated things reveal each other.

Tech & AI

Not how it works. How it changes things. For creators, for culture, for the way we think.

Seeing Things

Photography, observation, and the practice of looking more carefully at what's already in front of you.

Everything Else

Sometimes labels are too much. Opinions, questions, half-formed ideas, honest words.
